Rapid Change
Written by : Jeffrey R Hilton
Big changes are afoot. You can feel it in the air.You can feel the mood of the people, restless, anxious and suspicious as to what these changes might be.
Changes in technology are happening quicker than ever before and by leaps and bounds. Man is ready for the next great challenges. Or is he ? Doomsayers and scientists alike are predicting dire times and speak of the end of the end of what we've come to know as
civilization.
It's plain to see that weather patterns seem to be intensifying in ferocity and frequency. What of global warming ? As prepared as we think we are, the hard truths are that the possibilities are endless as to what might happen. Massive earthquakes that trigger a chain of the same creating widespread devastation, bringing tsunami's bearing down on multiple coastlines. Entire coastlines and beyond dropping into the sea.
Just the arctic polar ice melting alone at an accelerated rate could bring this calamity to fruition. Scientists claim that it's already melting at an alarming rate. Should we panic and worry ? Let me put it this way. We may never see the final calamities that are bearing down on us, and then again, it all could begin next week.
I think at the very least, everyone should be in some state of readiness, even if it's just to have a survival cache to carry them for even three or four months. Who knows what kind of calamity could befall us. All we can do is be prepared as possible. Be ready to adapt to change and hope that it's a fate that won't befall us.
What about the changes in political climates ? Another rapidly changing game fueled by peoples desires to live in a democratic society like most of the rest of the free world. It's gaining momentum and popularity driven by the internet. Oppression is an ugly word. These people are determined and the last few real oppressors know that time is not on their side.
What of our own political climate closer to home ? Dissatisfaction reigns supreme in the United States and who could blame them with the country going off the rails. While there's a huge blame culture at work, the facts are that it was more than one President's administration that led the country to it's many woes of now.
What about Canada ? Are we Canadians dissatisfied with our government ? I think that most of us are and in the belief that our governments need to be reinvented to reflect the times better. Canadians just seem a little slower to react. We need to learn how to better join together in unity. Not just a few more of us, but all of us. Divided we fall flat and fail. Together we stand and sail and accomplish what we set out to do.
We are trying as hard as we can to adapt to the rapid changes and sometimes it's hard to keep up, but it's in your best interest to do so.
