BETWEEN THE MOON AND STARS
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON
2019
BETWEEN THE FIRE GLOW
AND THE STAR SHOW
I RECLINE, I UNWIND
SLOW BUT SURE
POUND BY POUND
FALLS TO THE GROUND
UNTIL I'M FREE AGAIN
MY SPIRITS HIGH
MY SENSES KEEN
ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS
IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING
OLD AND NEW
THE FEELINGS ALL COMING BACK
THAT I COULDN'T FIND AT ALL
HARD TO MOVE
WHEN YOU'RE PINNED TO THE WALL
IF I HAD MY WAY
I WOULD STAY
I'D NEVER GO BACK
I'D STAY RIGHT HERE
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK
THE MOUNTAINS BEHIND ME
THE RIVER OUTSIDE OUR DOOR
THE SMELL OF PINE
LIKE FINE WINE
TO MY SENSES
THE SUN A MAGNET TO MY SOUL
AND SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN
THE MOON AND STARS
DRINKING WHISKY FROM A JAR
FARAWAY FROM THE MADNESS
FAR AWAY, FAR ENOUGH
TO FEEL A ANOTHER WAY
A DIFFERENT WORLD FOR SURE
WHERE THE TRUTH NEVER HIDES
IN PLAIN SIGHT OF ANGELS
PLAYING MY GUITAR
BY THE FIRE
UNTIL THE AURORA DRAWS ME OUT
SO I CAN FEEL, SO I CAN SEE
I CAN BE ME, YOU CAN BE YOU
ARE YOU READY
TO ADD THIS MEMORY
WHATEVER WE ADD TO THIS
IS WHAT ITS GONNA BE
IT'LL BE ALRIGHT
YOU NEVER LOST A THING
HIGH ABOVE THE SEA
WORKING OUT
EVERY MYSTERY WE FIND
WE FEEL
SORTING OUT THE FANTASY
FROM EVERYTHING THAT'S REAL
BETWEEN THE MOON AND STARS
IN THE FIRELIGHT
THE SPARKS LOOKING FOR THE SKY
