PUSHING THE TIDE
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON
FEB. 2019
THE WIND IS PUSHING THE TIDE
ITS A WILD DAY
BUT YOU ARE BY MY SIDE
THE SUNS FIGHTING
THE CLOUDS TO SHINE
NO HORIZON, I CAN SEE
NO BEGINNING, NO END
NOTHING TO DEFINE
NOTHING LEFT TO CHANCE
JUST A DREAM, A STANCE
ITS NEVER CUT AND DRIED
RIDING THE SWELL
DANCING ON THE WAVES
WEARING THE SUN
WHEN SKIES ARE BLUE
THE PART OF YOU INSIDE
THAT HOLDS ME FAST
STEADIES ME
SO I DON'T CRASH
THAT I CAN'T HIDE
ITS NEVER CUT AND DRIED
TELL ME
WHERE ARE THE CONTROLS
TO TURN THIS SHIP AROUND
BEFORE IT RUNS AGROUND
MY CALM IN STORMY SEAS
THE WAVES ARE OVER THE SIDE
THE WIND IS PUSHING THE TIDE
WE HANG ON TOGETHER
FOR DEAR LIFE
RUNNING LEE, NOT TO BE
PUT ON YOUR BRAVEST FACE
WE'LL GO DOWN
OR WE'LL GET SOMEPLACE
SOONER OR LATER
WE MIGHT GET SOME PEACE
PULL DOWN THE HEAVENS
DRAW FROM THE WINE
SIT IN THE SUN
TAKE OUR OWN TIME
ITS BEEN QUITE THE RIDE
THE WIND PUSHING THE TIDE
WILD DAYS
BUT YOU STAYED BY MY SIDE
I HOLD MY HANDS TO
CATCH THE RAIN
THE RAINBOWS WHEN
SKIES ARE BLUE
BESIDE YOU.
