AUGUST MOON
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON
2019
THE SUMMER DAYS ARE FADING
THE LEAVES ALREADY TAKING
ONE LAST BREATH OF GREEN
ENDLESS SUMMER
SOMETHING I'VE HEARD
BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN
WALKING THROUGH THE WOODS
IN HUSHED SILENCE
EVERY-BODIES GONE
I THINK OF ALL THE SUMMERS PAST
AND HOW MUCH SHORTER NOW
THEY SEEM
I THINK TO A TIME WHEN
DAYS SEEMED TO NEVER END
FINALLY GIVING WAY TO THE STARS
THERE WE WERE
FINDING OUT WHO WE ARE
WE LIVED A LIFETIME IN A DAY
COULDN'T FIND US
WE WERE GONE AWAY
TOUCHING LOVE
AUGUST MOON
IF SHE WON'T
SHE WILL SOON
SUMMER ENDS
YOU FIND HER GONE
YOU'VE GOT THAT LOOK
AGAIN IN YOUR EYES
NIGHTS SAT
WONDERING WHY
STARING INTO THE FLAMES
YOU'RE NEVER THE SAME
WAY TWICE
BUT THE FIRST TIMES
ALWAYS NICE
I CROSSED THE OCEANS
I WATCHED EACH SUMMER
DYING WITH DISMAY
A COLD OCTOBER MOON
COMES SHINING
THE SKY DIVIDES
MAYBE I SHOULD BE
ON THE OTHER SIDE
IN THAT
ENDLESS SUMMER LIGHT
TRYING TO GET THERE
BUT SOMETIMES
I LOSE SIGHT
SOMETIMES YOU GET
TO BE A STAR
OTHER TIMES
A SUN RAY
THAT'S WHO YOU ARE
YOU JUST NEED TO SHINE
