WESTERN SKY

WESTERN SKY

WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON

OCTOBER 2018

ONE TIME LONG AGO
I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW
TIME WENT SO VERY SLOW
DAYS WENT ON FOREVER
CRUSHES PLENTY
ONLY TWENTY
BROKEN HEARTS
PROMISES AND LIES
LOOKING INTO HER EYES

BACKWARDS, FORWARD, AWKWARD
NEVER STANDING STILL
THE WORLD CALLING OUT TO ME
COME AND GET YOUR FILL
RIVERS MOUNTAINS
SEAS OF BLUE
MAGNETS ONE AND ALL
TO DRAW ME CLOSER

ALONG MY WAY
SO MANY SOMEONES
BUT NEVER THE RIGHT ONES
LIKE SO MANY SOMETHINGS
THAT NEVER LASTED
NOT LONG, ALL GONE
LEFT ME HOLDING
 AN EMPTY DREAM
FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN
I'D SAY ITS TIME TO LEAVE

STILL LOOKING FOR SOMETHING
TO BELIEVE IN
FOUND ME WATCHING
THE WESTERN SKY
SWALLOW THE SUN
BIG SKIES FILLED WITH STARS
MADE FOR DREAMS
THE FUTURE OPEN AND WIDE
COME ON STEP INSIDE

HEY I REALLY LIKED HER SMILE
OPENED UP TO ME
MILE AFTER MILE
TILL THE END OF THE ROAD
THEN SHE HAD TO GO
THAT'S THE WAY
THE RIVER FLOWS
THAT'S HOW I KNOW
ITS BEEN QUITE THE RIDE

SOMETIMES THINGS GET SO BLUE
OTHER TIMES
SO HAPPY INSIDE
ALL OR NOTHING
GO OR STAY
THERE'S ALWAYS
ANOTHER WAY
UNDERNEATH A WESTERN SKY
FILLED WITH DREAMS
I REMEMBER THE FEELING
OF BEING FREE

THE PRICE TO PAY
 FOR ALL THOSE YEARS
NOW TIMES GOES MUCH FASTER
DISAPPEARS
WITH LOVE AT MY SIDE AT LAST
COULDN'T LET IT PASS
EVERYTHING REAL I CAN FIND
I JUST HAVE TO TOUCH IT
AND ITS MINE
YOUR TOTAL SWEET DELIGHT
YOUR EVERLASTING LIGHT
SHINING FOR ME
