DIGGING IN MY HEART

DIGGING IN MY HEART

WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON  2019

DAYLIGHTS FADING FAST
SHAPING DUSK TO DARK
JUST A SPARK A LITTLE FIRE
TO SIT BY
THE FOREST
 GROWS BLACK WITH NIGHT
WAITING FOR THE MOON
AND A BILLION STARS

ALL ALONE
WAITING FOR YOU
A LITTLE TIME ALONE
JUST TO UNWIND
GET INSIDE THESE DREAMS
I STARTED HERE ONCE BEFORE
NOW I'M BACK FOR MORE
START IT ALL AGAIN

ITS BEEN YEARS
BUT THESE LAST FEW WEEKS
WAITING FOR THIS
MARKING TIME
PROUD THAT I CAN SAY
I MADE IT MINE
I'VE GOT TO FILL UP MY SOUL
MOTHER EARTH
DIGGING IN MY HEART
LOOKING FOR THE PASSION
TAKING OUT THE ROAD BLOCKS
THAT MIGHT KEEP US APART
FATE THAT WAS CHARMED
RIGHT FROM THE START

SOMETIMES YOU GET SO LOST
GET SO FARAWAY
FROM THE PLACES
YOU WERE MEANT TO BE
WHEN YOU FINALLY FIND
THAT ROAD THAT TAKES YOU BACK
THERE'S NO HESITATION
YOU RIDE IT HOME
BACK TO THE PLACE
THAT YOU BELONG

A BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE
JUST AS YOU ARRIVE
BLUE SKIES KISSED BY A
GENTLE SUMMER BREEZE
MOUNTAINS RISE
FROM THE MIST
MAKES ME FEEL SO ALIVE

WHAT I'D BEEN MISSING
 ALL ALONG
HERE WITH YOU
INSIDE YOUR LOVE
BENEATH THE BIGGEST BLUE SKIES
THE TALLEST TREES
MAYBE THE SCENT OF PINE
IS GOING TO MY HEAD
OR MAYBE ITS YOU INSTEAD
YOUR LIFE
YOUR LOVE IN MY HANDS
IT SHINES BACK TO YOU

IN THE MEADOW
RIGHT BESIDE THE MOON
JUST YOU AND I
AND ALL THE STARS IN THE SKY
HOW I BELIEVE IN YOU
MISS YOU WHEN YOU'RE GONE
IT WON'T BE LONG
MOTHER EARTH
DIGGING IN MY HEART
