DECEMBER SKIES
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON

MYSTERY LIES IN THE COLD
SKIES OF DECEMBER
AS FAR BACK AS I CAN REMEMBER
BACK WHEN THINGS WOULD NEVER CHANGE
THEN ONE DAY, IT ALL WENT AWAY
EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING WAS GONE
THOUGHT MAYBE I WAS
SUPPOSED TO GO ALONG
I WOKE UP I WAS ALL ALONE
MUST BE A REASON I'M NOT GOING
I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD LAUGH OR CRY
ALL I CAN DO IS SIT HERE
AND WONDER WHY
ITS A DIFFERENT WORLD TODAY
GETTING SMALLER ALL THE TIME
AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT FINDS
ITS ALL A LITTLE STRANGE
THIS FEELING THAT NEVER LETS ME GO
THIS FEELING THAT DOES ITS BEST
TO HAUNT MY SOUL
LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER
IS THERE SOMETHING THAT I LOST
LEFT BEHIND
SOMETHING THAT SLIPPED MY MIND
THERE'S NO RAINBOWS
IN DECEMBER SKIES
ONLY HOLLOW HELLOS AND GOODBYES
COLD WINDS BLOWING
DRIVING THE SNOW
NOWHERE TO GO, I CAN'T SEE
I CAN'T SAY I MIND
I GUESS I'LL STAY PUT
STARE INTO THIS FIRE
GET LOST SOMEWHERE INSIDE MY THOUGHTS
WHEN THE SKIES OF DECEMBER
ARE COMING DOWN COLD AND GRAY
AND THE WORLD OUTSIDE IS PAINTED IN WHITE
YOU CAN HARDLY TELL
THE DAY FROM THE NIGHT
TIME SLOWS DOWN, STICKS AROUND
TUCKED UP INSIDE YOUR LOVE
BRACED FROM WINTERS NIGHT
GUESS ITS REALLY NOT SO BAD
LOOKING BACK ON THE TIMES I'VE HAD
MAYBE TOMORROW
WE'LL GET TO SEE THE SUN SHINING DOWN
KEEPING WINTER ON THE RUN
IF THAT'S THE BEST WE CAN GET
THAT WILL DO YOU BET
HERE UNDER DECEMBER SKIES
