FOLLOW THE SUN
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON

SUMMER LEAVES FELL FROM THE TREES
AS THE SUN BEGAN TO RETREAT
A REVERED SILENCE FELL OVER THE PARKS
THE WOODS, THE TREES
IF YOU CAN'T HEAR A SOUND
WHILE THE SKIES ARE TURNING GRAY
THE SUN IS LOOKING THE OTHER WAY
RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW, IT'S TURNING COLD
ICY FINGERS, NOVEMBER MOON
RUNNING DOWN THE CLOCK
ALMOST SEEMS LIKE IT'S STOPPED
PAINTED AUTUMN LIES SLEEPING
GRAY ON THE GROUND
HAPPY LAUGHTER'S GONE
I PACE THE FLOOR, PONDERING
UPLIFTING SWEET SUMMER DAYS
STRIP AWAY THE SUN
AND GOOD THINGS FOLLOW IT AWAY
I WISH I WAS ONE
SPIRIT RESTED CALM
LONGING FOR THE SUN
SILENT IN THE SNOW
BLINDED BY THE AFTERNOON GLOW
I SHOULD JUST SEE MYSELF
I WASN'T CUT OUT FOR WINTER
IT SLOWS ME DOWN
YOU KNOW I LIKE TO MOVE AROUND IN THE SUN
HAPPY WHEN WINTERS DONE
THE TREES ARE TOO HEAVY LADEN DOWN WITH SNOW
DON'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY
BUT I TALK TO THEM ANYWAY
SNOWMEN STAND ON GUARD, IN EVERY YARD
CARS SNOWED UNDER WAITING FOR THE SPRING
FOLLOW THE SUN, I'D GIVE ANYTHING
TIRED OF BEING COLD, I CAN'T FEEL MY FINGERS
I CAN'T FEEL MY NOSE
TRACKS LAID DOWN IN THE SNOW
SEE WHERE THEY GO
AND IF I FIND MY WAY, TO FOLLOW THE SUN
WELL I'LL BE GONE
REVERED SILENCE, FALLING SNOW
IN THE PARKS, THE WOODS, THE TREES
AND BENEATH THE STREETLIGHTS GLOW
SURE IT'S PEACEFUL BUT IT SLOWS ME DOWN
AND I DON'T WANT TO STOP
SPRING IN MY HEELS
SUMMER IN MY HEART
THE ANTICIPATION, LET IT START
SUMMER LEAVES, LOOK BETTER ON THE TREES
CATCHING THE SUN
NODDING IN A SUMMER BREEZE
