TURNING INTO STONE
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON
2017
SEE THIS GOING NOWHERE
NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND
LIFE SHOULD NEVER BE THIS UNKIND
INTEREST DISSOLVES LIKE SMOKE IN THE WIND
DON'T KNOW HOW I GOT HERE AGAIN
THE WHOLE WORLD IS GOING BY
LEAVING ME BEHIND
IN THE EARLY MORNINGS DAWN
IT'S THERE THAT YOU'LL FIND ME
REACHING OUT TO SOMETHING FAMILIAR
THAT'S JUST NOT THERE
JUST THE BITTER TASTE OF DESPAIR
I DON'T BELONG HERE, I TRIED TO SAY
BUT NO ONE HEARD ME ANYWAY
EVERYTHING IS TURNING INTO STONE
REVERED SILENCE ALL ALONE
YOU LOOK ALL AROUND YOU
AND YOU WONDER WHAT ALL THIS IS
IT'S BEEN SO LONG
SINCE I FELT LIKE I BELONGED
NEARLY EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
IS ALREADY GONE
A RACE TO SUCCESS OR FAILURE
ONE I HAVE TO WIN
BITE THE BULLET, SCALE THE WALLS
STORM THE FUTURE
WEIGH IN AGAINST THE FOE
IF ONLY IT WAS THAT EASY
IF I COULD ONLY FIND A KEY
TO UNLOCK THE MYSTERY
A NEW WORLD OPENS UP TO ME
MAYBE SOMEHOW I DIDN'T SEE
I DON'T BELONG HERE
I TRIED TO SAY
BUT NO ONE HEARD, ANSWERED MY PRAYER
I TURNED AROUND AND NO ONE WAS THERE
YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN
FROZEN IN TIME
EVERYTHING'S TURNING INTO STONE
DUST BLOWING ACROSS THE EMPTY PLAIN
NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME
WILL I TURN TO STONE AS WELL
IT'S TOO EARLY TO TELL
BUT I CAN HARDLY MOVE
I CAN HARDLY BREATHE
