Miles To Go

NOVEMBER 2016
ROADS AND HIGHWAYS PASS BEFORE MY EYES
HEADED WEST TO SEE WHAT I COULD DO
TO IMPROVE THE LIFE, I WAS ACCUSTOMED TO
MILES TO GO, AND NOTHING BUT TIME
MY MINDS MELTS INTO THE MOUNTAINS THAT I SEE
THEY BECOME A PART OF ME
NOWHERE TO GO BUT UP
SHROUDED IN MYSTERY AND CLOUDS
AWAY FROM THE MADDENING CROWDS
A CROW CALLS TO ME, AS I'M CROSSING THE SCREE
REACH FOR THE TOP, SAVOR THE VIEW
SEE INTO THIS WORLD ABOVE THE CLOUDS
AS FAR AS MY EYES ALLOW
LET MY MIND WORK OUT THE REST
FREEDOM IS FLYING LIKE A FLAG IN MY SOUL
IT'S HARD TO LEAVE THIS PLACE AND GO
BUT EVERYTHING'S BEGINNING HAS AN END
AND WHO KNOWS WHAT AWAITS AROUND THE BEND
BACK ON THE ROAD, THAT LEADS TO WESTERN GOLD
A NEW START IN THE SUN
IT WASN'T EASY, BUT I GAVE IT ALL I HAD
THE THINGS THAT GOT IN THE WAY
NOW DON'T SEEM SO BAD
WITH A SUNSET BURNED INTO THE SKY
I'LL MAKE IT, I'LL GET BY
ROADBLOCKS NEVER MEANT THAT MUCH TO ME
I'LL FIND MY WAY AROUND
THE WILL FINDS THE WAY
ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD, THE WIND AT OUR BACKS
SMILE ON YOUR FACE AS YOU
TRY TO GET THROUGH THESE TIMES
I DON'T HAVE MUCH AT ALL
BUT WHAT I'VE GOT IS MINE
I DON'T HAVE RICHES, BUT I'VE GOT LOVE
WHAT I CAN'T GET AROUND
I WILL RISE ABOVE
