I FOLLOWED A STAR

A GLOWING SUNSETS FADING COLDER
YOU CAN FEEL THE CHILL IN THE AIR
THE LEAVES ARE TURNING FALLING
A FIRESTORM OF COLOR SWIRLING
ANOTHER SUMMERS NEARLY OVER
IT ALWAYS SEEMS ITS OVER BEFORE IT STARTS
KIND OF EVOKES A SADNESS IN ME
LIKE NOTHING ELSE I KNOW
SOMETHING TO REFLECT ON
AS I SIT BY THE FIRES WINTER GLOW
SOMETIMES THERE'S JUST THINGS
ANSWERS OF THAT, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW
I NEVER CLAIMED TO HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS
BUT I'VE TRIED MY BEST TO FILL IN ALL THE BLANKS
AND ALL THE CHINKS IN MY ARMOR
I PATCHED UP THE BEST I COULD
SOMETIMES I WONDER, HOW I GOT THIS FAR
BUT I KNOW ONE THING
I FOLLOWED A STAR
FOR EVERYTHING A REASON
WHATEVER THAT MAY BE WILL BE
ALL I REALLY WANT TO KNOW IS
HOW IS IT WILL I KNOW WILL I SEE
WHEN ITS TIME TO GET OFF THIS ROAD
SAY I'VE SEEN MY SHARE
JUST GIVE ME A SIGN, AND I'LL SEE YOU THERE
TOO MANY THOUGHTS CLOUD MY MIND
AS I TRY TO FALL ASLEEP AND DREAM
SO I GO ON WAITING, FOR THE ONE I'VE NEVER SEEN.

I would love to see someone like Annie Lennox or Bruce Cockburn record this.
DO HAVE A GOOD DAY
