LIFE'S NEVER PASSED ME BY

JULY 2016
THE THUNDER ROLLS OVER THE GREAT PLAINS
YOU CAN FEEL THE ENERGY THAT COMES BEFORE THE RAIN
A RAVEN WINGS AGAINST A BIG GREY SKY
AND THE RIVER AS SHE FLOWS WESTWARD TO THE SEA
LEAVES ME STANDING HERE IN THE RAIN
MY SPIRIT WOULD BE DAMPENED BUT I REFRAIN
AS I STOKE THE FIRE BACK TO A FLAME
THE MOUNTAINS WEARING CLOUDY RAINY SHROUDS
THEY'LL BE NO STARS TONIGHT TO DISTRACT ME
AS I STARE INTO THE FIRE
PLANNING MY WISHES AND DESIRES
DARKENED DAYLIGHT LENDS TO THE MOOD
AS THE ONLY LIGHT COMES FROM MY FLAMES
FLICKERING IN THE RAIN
I MAY COME AND I MAY GO
BUT THIS MUCH I KNOW
LIFE'S NEVER PASSED ME BY
BUT MY YES I HAVE SEEN TIME FLY
NOW THE RAIN STOPS AND THE MOON SHOWS IT'S FACE
IT'S TWO A.M BEFORE I SLEEP
I GET MYSELF IN SO DEEP, I DREAM THAT I CAN FLY
IN SOME AYURVEDIC TIE
I LOOK DOWN AT THE WORLD
I SEE WRONG AND RIGHT
SITTING TOGETHER BY THE FIRELIGHT
AND WHEN I PASS BY AGAIN
THE WRONG THERE WAS GONE
OBSERVE THE AWAKENING OF A NEW DAWN
IT'S BEEN SO LONG COMING, SOME COULDN'T WAIT
IT ALL COMES TOO LATE
BUT IT COMES ALL THE SAME
POINT THE FINGER PLACE THE BLAME
THE AFTERNOON SUN IS BLAZING DOWN
ON THIS LITTLE OASIS I HAVE FOUND
SHAKE ME UP BUT DON'T KNOCK ME DOWN
I'VE COME AROUND, LIFE'S NEVER PASSED ME BY
DON'T QUESTION THE WHERE, THE WHY
WHAT MATTERS MOST IS MOTHER EARTH
WITHOUT HER WE'RE ALL GONE TO GROUND
TURN AROUND I DON'T WANT TO DROWN
