ALMOST THERE
WRITTEN BY: J.R HILTON
JULY 2016
SITTING HERE ON MY OWN
MY MINDS SOMEWHERE FARAWAY
WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE SAND
I'VE ALREADY WAITED ALL I CAN
I WAS READY TO LEAVE YESTERDAY
MY HEART WAS IN IT ALL THE WAY
TIRED OF STAYING HOME, JUST YOU AND I ALONE
BEFORE WE CRASH AND BURN
THERE'S ONE THING I'VE LEARNED
YOU HAVE TO GETAWAY ONCE IN AWHILE
DON'T HOLD TIGHT, LET IT GO
IT CAN ONLY GROW, UNTIL WE GET TO GO
TRY NOT TO BE SAD, WE'RE CLOSER THAN WE'VE EVER BEEN
HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH KEEP GOING
BAD LUCK HAD US SINKING LIKE A STONE
WE WERE ALL ALONE
SEEMED LIKE FOREVER
ONE BY ONE THINGS BEGAN TO TURN AROUND
I SWEAR WE'RE ALMOST THERE
I CAME SO CLOSE TO GIVING UP BUT I DIDN'T
A LOT OF THAT I'M SURE WAS YOU
KEPT ME PULLING REELING IN THE LINE
IT TOOK SUCH A LONG TIME
SEEMED LIKE THERE WAS NO END
THEN ALL AT ONCE THERE IT WAS
FINALLY PULLED IN THE END
AND NOW WE WAIT MY FRIEND
FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS COMING OUR WAY
YOU AND I WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE SAND
YOU COME WITH ME AS I TAKE YOUR HAND
NOW I'M FEELING LIKE I SEE US IN MY DREAMS
WHEN WE GET BACK FROM WHERE WE'VE BEEN
I SEE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIGHT
I KNOW IT WASN'T THAT BRIGHT
THE LIGHT THAT CONNECTS YOU TO ME
HOLD ON WE'RE ALMOST THERE
THE EXCITEMENTS ALMOST TOO MUCH TO BARE
