IN NEW DAYS DAWN
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON
OCTOBER 2019
WOKE UP THIS MORNING
LOOKED INTO THE SUN
LOOKED BACK AT
THE WAY I'D COME
THE TRACKS WERE GONE
THE SAND FILLED IN
BY THE WIND
THE STORMS THAT
WORE ME DOWN
STRENGTHENED MY RESOLVE
I TOOK EVERY CHANCE
THAT CAME MY WAY
TRIED TO EMBRACE
THE CHANGES
COMING ON SO FAST
ALL THE HEARTACHES
I PUT ASIDE
HEAVEN AND HELL
WELL
I'VE ALREADY SEEN
BEEN THERE
THE DECADES WINGING BY
DISAPPEARED ONE BY ONE
LEAVING THE WORLD
IN CHANGE
BARELY TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
THROWN TO THE WOLVES
THEY TOOK THEIR SHARE
WELCOME TO THE FUTURE
NOT QUITE THE UTOPIA
I'D HEARD IT WOULD BE
THERE ARE SOME THINGS
I WISH I HADN'T SEEN
CHANGED ME FOREVER
CAST THE WEIGHT OFF
CUT THE CHAINS
I NEVER KNEW I HAD
SLIP OVER THE HORIZON
IN NEW DAYS DAWN
DON'T BOTHER LOOKING BACK
ITS ALL GONE
LIKE A LOST OLD FRIEND
A FAMILIAR FACE
IN THE MISTY SKIES OF TIME
I NEVER SAW IT COMING
I NEVER SAW IT GO
I MISSED THE SUBTLE CHANGES
I DIDN'T KNOW
MY HEART WAS ON THE LIST
UNTIL THE LAST DAY
THE LAST KISS
CAST THE WEIGHT OFF
CUT THE CHAINS
I NEVER KNEW I HAD
SLIP OVER THE HORIZON
IN NEW DAYS DAWN
NEW LIGHT TO CARRY ON
