CAN'T TELL MY TEARS FROM THE RAIN
WRITTEN BY JEFF R HILTON
2019
MISTY RAIN
FALLING ON THE NIGHT
THROUGH THE STREETLIGHT
I STAND AND WATCH
ALONE AND EMPTY
LIKE A DRUM
FEELING LIKE I'M DONE
ONCE AGAIN I LOSE
NO WAY DOWN
THE ROAD I CHOOSE
I NEVER SEEM TO LEARN
I NEVER SEEM SEEM TO CARE
EVEN IF I DO, I CAN'T WIN
HOW CAN I BE REAL
THE STORM INSIDE I FEEL
NEVER SEEMS TO END
MAYBE I SHOULD BE ALONE
MY HEARTS THERE
BUT MY HEAD ISN'T HOME
I'VE ALL BUT GIVEN UP
ON EVER FINDING MY WAY
TO A TIME THAT
I DON'T HAVE TO PAY
FOR EVERY MISTAKE
I NEED THAT KIND OF BREAK
TO MOVE AHEAD
MAKE ALL THE RIGHT CHOICES
FINISH FIRST INSTEAD
MAYBE I WOULDN'T BE HERE
IN THE RAIN
MORE OF ANYTHING
OTHER THAN THE SAME
HOW MUCH TIME
COULD THERE BE
STANDING HERE IN THE STREET
I WONDER
SILENCE CAN'T TELL MY TEARS
FROM THE RAIN
WISHING MY LIFE WOULD CHANGE
BUT ALAS ITS JUST ME
DID I GET TOO DEEP
THAT I CAN'T SEE
THE WAY THINGS REALLY ARE
THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE
MIDNIGHT COMES AND GOES
THE RAIN STOPS
THE WIND STILL BLOWS
FEELING LIKE THIS EMPTY STREET
WHAT ELSE IS NEW
I'M WONDERING
COULD THIS BE NEAR THE END
WILL TOMORROW BREAK OR BEND
JUST A LITTLE
ENOUGH TO BUY SOME TIME
