THE FALLING RAIN
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON
2018
WATCHING THE RAIN FALL
WASHING THE SUN AWAY
GOLDEN FIELDS TURNING BROWN
THE LEAVES ARE FALLING
DANCING WITH THE WIND
SUNDOWN PUSHES BACK ON THE DAY
THE NIGHT TRIES TO CLIMB INSIDE
SUMMERS OVER CUT AND DRIED
LIKE FLOWERS HANGING
UPSIDE DOWN FROM THE RAFTERS
THE GEESE MOVE DOWN
FROM NORTHERN LATITUDES
FILL THE SKIES FLYING SOUTH
IN THE FOREST A COMBINED HUSH
THE FALLING RAIN BRINGS ME
BACK TO THIS PLACE
IMAGINED OR REAL
ITS HARD NOT TO FEEL
A LITTLE SAD
FADED WORDS OF LOVE IN THE SAND
SHE TOOK ME BY THE HAND
AND LOOKED INTO MY EYES
FEEL IT COMING LIKE THE FALL
THE WINTER THE SNOW
I KNEW YOU'D HAVE TO GO
AFTER EACH HOUR,EACH MINUTE
ALL WITH YOU IN IT
I CAN'T FORGET YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE
I WANTED TO BE SOMEONE
YOU COULDN'T DO WITHOUT
SOMEONE YOU NEED
THOUGHT MAYBE YOU WOULD STAY
HOPED YOU COULDN'T
DRAG YOURSELF AWAY
BUT LIKE THE SUMMER PASSING
YOU'LL SOON BE GONE
SOMEWHERE ELSE YOU'VE GOT TO BE
YOU'RE QUITTING ME
I TOOK YOU TO THE STATION
IS THAT A TEAR IN YOUR EYE
I KNOW I'VE GOT SOME IN MINE
SAW YOU IN THE WINDOW
AS THE TRAIN WAS PULLING OUT
LEFT MY HEART IN DOUBT
I HOPE YOU MAKE IT BACK THIS WAY
WHEN YOU'RE DONE
TIRED OF CITY LIGHTS
SETTLE DOWN BE A GOOD GIRL
FIND YOUR WAY BACK INTO MY HEART
INSIDE MY SUMMER DAYS
RIDING SIDE BY SIDE
TWO LOVERS IN THE FALLING SUNS GLOW
HEY,YA NEVER KNOW
MAYBE WE'LL GET TO TRY
WATCHING THE RAIN FALL
WASHING THE SUN AWAY
COME BACK AND STAY
WHEN THE SUNDOWN
PUSHES BACK ON THE DAY
