EVERY SUNRISE
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON
2018
BEFORE ANOTHER DAY COMES AND GOES
YOU SEE THE WAY THE SUNSET GLOWS
SEE THE COLORS RUN
THE ORANGE TO RED
THE BLUE TO VIOLET
THEY BLEED INTO THE DUSK
THE STARS BEGIN THEIR SHOW
THE MOON IS NEW AND LOW
THE NIGHTS ALREADY MOVING SLOW
STANDING HERE WATCHING SHADOWS
JUST ME SURROUNDED
BY THIS SERENITY
SURE I'M LONELY, I THINK OF LOVES LOST
OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW ENOUGH
TO MOVE ALONG
I PASSED BY THE SWEETEST TIMES
LIVED THROUGH NIGHTMARES COME TO LIFE
I'VE CHASED DREAMS
AND WATCHED THEM DISAPPEAR
SURPRISE SURPRISE BEFORE MY EYES
BUT THE FEW I REALIZED
THE ICING ON THE CAKE
NOBODY COULD BE
COMPLETELY SURE EVERY TIME
KNOW WHICH ROAD TO TAKE
THE PLACES I'VE SEEN
THAT I DIDN'T MEAN TO
THE MISTAKES I MADE WERE
LESSONS I HAD TO LEARN
BELIEVE ME IT'S NOT HARD
TO CRASH AND BURN
WHEN YOU'RE LEARNING TO FLY
EVERY SUNRISE THAT I SEE
MAKES ME FEEL GOOD INSIDE
I SETTLE DOWN IN MY SEAT
AND WATCH THE SCENERY GO BY
SITTING HERE HALF HYPNOTIZED
SEE THE WISDOM SEE THE LOVE
IN MY EYES
HEAR THE WORDS
THAT MY SOUL CRIES
SOOTHE ME WITH YOUR PRESENCE
DANCE WITH ME BENEATH THE STARS
I WILL DO MY BEST FOR YOU
TAKE TIME TO BREATHE
THEN TELL ME
WHERE YOU DREAM
SHOW ME THE FIELDS
YOU RAN THROUGH AS A CHILD
THE TREES THAT GAVE YOU SHADE
FROM THE SUN
THE HOUSE YOU LIVED IN
WHEN THE DAY WAS DONE
IF THERE'S A WILL
THERE'S A WAY
SHOULD I WAIT AND SEE
SHOULD MY HOPES BE HIGH
I THINK I FINALLY KNOW
HOW TO FLY
