POISON WILL
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON
2017
THE SKY TURNED GRAY
STARTED TO WEEP
WATER THROUGH MY FINGERS
FALLING AT MY FEET
I SAW HER COMING
I STEPPED INTO THE SHADOWS
AND WATCHED HER GO
DEEP AND DARK
MISGUIDED HEART
I WATCHED HER
PLAY HER PART
YOU LAID DOWN BESIDE ME
I SHOULD OF GUESSED
YOU'D FALLEN FROM GRACE
EMPTY INSIDE, NOTHING THERE
BUT YOUR COLD HEART
I TURNED OFF THE LIGHT
I TURNED OFF YOUR LIES
SAW THROUGH YOUR DISGUISE
DID YOU REALLY THINK
IT WAS A FREE RIDE
SO SURE WERE YOU
SO SURPRISED
WHEN I SHOWED YOU THE DOOR
DON'T WANT THAT NEAR ME
I HAVE MY PRIDE
DON'T NEED THAT BESIDE ME
POISONING THE WELL
THOUGHT I WAS LONELY
KNEW I WAS ALONE
A TEMPORARY LEAVE OF MY SENSES
LET MY GUARD DOWN
HOW SOON WE FORGET
HOW QUICK WE'RE REMINDED
DIDN'T TAKE THAT LONG
UNTIL I'D HAD MY FILL
OVERDOSING ON HER POISON WILL
I LET HER KNOW
SHE HAD TO GO
SHE STALLED TOOK WAY TOO LONG
BEFORE SHE WAS FINALLY GONE
LIGHTER AGAIN
FLOATING TO THE TOP
TO SEE THE SUN AGAIN
IT WAS TOO LONG TO BE
TO SEE, TO FEEL YOU'RE NOT FREE
I COUNTED DOWN THE DAYS
SOMEONE ELSE NOT ME
I'M FINISHED I'M DONE
NEVER EXPECTED THE WORSE
NOR THE POISON
WILL OF A DETERMINED CURSE
THE WINDIGO
ISN'T ALWAYS IN THE WOODS
DARK AND EVIL, MISGUIDED HEART
