The Train

GOT TO THE STATION
AS THE TRAIN WAS PULLING AWAY
GUESS THERE'S NO HURRY, TO GET AWAY
GAZED AT ALL THE PEOPLE, COMING AND GOING
NAMELESS FACES IN A CROWD
EACH IN THEIR OWN LITTLE WORLD
IF THE WHOLE WORLD STOPPED
AND EVERYONE FROZE IN TIME
NOW WOULDN'T THAT BE SOMETHING TO FIND
WOULDN'T THAT BLOW YOUR MIND
RIDING THIS TRAIN ACROSS THE GREAT PLAINS
THE WHEAT PARTS AND LETS US BY
BIRDS OF PREDATORY NATURE, SOAR HIGH IN THE SKY
WHAT IF WE STOPPED THIS TRAIN, AND ALL GOT OUT AT ONCE
JUST FORGOT WE WERE IN A HURRY TO GET SOMEWHERE
WE ALL TOOK A LOOK AROUND RIGHT HERE
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
SURROUNDED BY NATURE, AND A TRAIN
WOULDN'T TAKE LONG, EVERYONE WOULD BE BACK ON AGAIN
IN A HURRY TO GET GOING
SEE IT IN THEIR FACES IT'S SHOWING
OH GET ON BOARD AND OFF WE GO
STATION TO STATION, TOWN AFTER TOWN
SOME AMAZING SCENERY GOING BY
I WATCH DREAMING, GO ON BELIEVING
EVERYTHING I'M DOING IS RIGHT
AND THAT OLD TRAIN JUST ROLLED ON INTO THE NIGHT
TO MEET THE MIDNIGHT ON TIME
IF I GOT IT RIGHT
STARLIGHT POURING THROUGH THE WINDOWS
THE MOON FULL AND BRIGHT
ON WE GO INTO THE NIGHT
STATION TO STATION ON THIS TRAIN
COMING GOING BACK AGAIN
JUST A MIRROR OF YESTERDAY , THAT NEVER GOT AWAY
FIVE MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT AND THAT OLD TRAIN
WAS PULLING INTO THE STATION
END OF THE LINE, EVERYONE DISEMBARKING
SOME ALONE, SOME HAND IN HAND
AND LITTLE GROUPS OF TWO OR THREE
I JUST LOOK I LIKE TO SEE
PEOPLE ON THE MOVE GOING SOMEWHERE
FADING INTO THE NIGHT
