My Lyrics To: Slow Reflection

Slow Reflection

WRITTEN BY: J.R HILTON
OCTOBER 2016

LEAVES WERE FALLING EVERYWHERE
BLOWING IN THE WIND IN DYING DESPAIR
LIKE A SHOT TO THE HEART
SUMMERS FALLING APART
FLOWERS GO MISSING
AS THEY DISAPPEAR BACK TO GROUND
THE SOUNDS OF THE LAST LAUGHTER
IN THE DYING SUMMER LIGHT
ECHO RETURNS TO A HOLLOW FOREST

THE MORNINGS BITTER
PRESSES ON YOUR BONES, WITH IT'S ICY FINGERS
FROST ON THE PUMPKINS, BETTER BRING EM IN
THIS IS THE END
THE SUN IS RETREATING, HIDING AGAIN
DARK BLUE SKIES ARE BEGGING FOR SNOW
OFF THE GEESE GO, TO CATCH UP WITH THE SUN
SUMMERS GONE AND DONE
ALREADY A FADING MEMORY

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW
LEADING TO A FROZEN WORLD
TIME OF SLOW REFLECTION, BY THE FIRELIGHT
TAKE THE MEMORIES YOU NEED AND FORGET THE REST
YOU DID OKAY, YOU DID YOUR BEST
YOU FELT THE HEARTBEAT OF THE FORESTS
BEFORE THEY WENT TO SLEEP
YOU WALKED THROUGH CANYONS, A MILE DEEP
YOU CLIMBED A MOUNTAIN AND YOU REACHED THE PEAK

ALL THIS IN THE SUMMER SUN
IT ALREADY SEEMS SO FARAWAY
ALREADY MISS THE GENTLE BREEZE
BLOWING THROUGH THE LEAVES ON THE TREES
SUMMER COMES AND GOES AND NO ONE CARES
IF YOU CAN'T LET GO
LEFT ME STANDING IN THE SNOW
ENDLESS SUMMERS ON MY MIND
WHILE I SHIVER, I CAN ONLY DREAM
IN THESE SEASONS, THAT ARE BETWEEN
ABOUT SUMMER
