Note to readers:
I have been writing song lyrics since I was 14 years old.
I have never been in a band.Have never been paid for any of my written material, including all that which is on this blog. I am an accomplished vocalist, just for my own purposes and those to help me write.I am in my late fifties now and it is still my dream to be able to sell the rights to at least of few of my lyrics and see them become recorded by a band that turns them into a hit song. I don't think I am asking too much.
I have never had the means to promote myself in any other way than this,so if I can gain followers here and my readers share my blogs as they see them fit to share, then maybe I have a chance. Sincerely: Jeff
This song is my latest offering and I think it's pretty damned good.

CHANGE WAS SLOW (I REMEMBER WHEN)
I REMEMBER,WHEN CHANGE WAS SLOW
SO MANY THINGS, WE DIDN'T KNOW
SOME CHANGES TOOK THEIR TOLL
TRIED TO TAKE MY HEART AND SOUL
I REMEMBER NIGHTS, PRAYING ON MY KNEES
FIELDS OF WILDFLOWERS, IN A WARM SUMMER BREEZE
FAR REMOVED FROM NOW, THAT KIND OF COMFORTS GONE
AND TIMES MOVING ALONG,DRIVING CHANGE
NOTHING STAYS THE SAME FOR LONG
chorus
I REMEMBER DAYS AND NIGHTS
THAT SEEMED LIKE THEY'D NEVER END
I REMEMBER BROKEN HEARTS
AND WISHING THEY WOULD MEND
I REMEMBER INDIAN SUMMERS
THAT MADE US SMILE FOR WEEKS
I RECALL FINDING FREEDOM
WALKING UP AND DOWN CREEKS
OH THE SUN SHONE BRIGHTLY
CASTING DIAMONDS ON THE FLOW
AND WITH THE GREATEST EASE
THE DAY WRAPPED AROUND MY SOUL
I REMEMBER CHURCH BELLS ON SUNDAY
THAT I USED TO DREAD
I PREFERRED DREAMING, TO BEING LED
OH TIME ALWAYS MOVED SO SLOW
I ALWAYS COULDN'T WAIT, FOR SOMEWHERE TO GO
I REMEMBER A RESTLESS SPIRIT
BLOWING IN THE WIND
LOST MY DIRECTION, THEN I FOUND IT AGAIN
I REMEMBER ALL THOSE CHILDHOOD CRUSHES
THAT I GOT CAUGHT BETWEEN
HER AND HER AND HER
NOTHING LIKE I'D EVER SEEN
I REMEMBER WHEN CHANGE WAS SLOW
AND SOMETIMES, I WASN'T SURE WHERE I SHOULD GO
