I FOLLOWED A STAR (LYRIC)

I FOLLOWED A STAR
Written by: Jeffrey Robert Hilton
September 23,2013

***

A GLOWING SUNSETS FADING COLDER
YOU CAN FEEL THE CHILL IN THE AIR
THE LEAVES ARE TURNING FALLING
A FIRESTORM OF COLOR SWIRLING
ANOTHER SUMMERS NEARLY OVER
IT ALWAYS SEEMS ITS OVER BEFORE IT STARTS
KIND OF EVOKES A SADNESS IN ME
LIKE NOTHING ELSE I KNOW
SOMETHING TO REFLECT ON
AS I SIT BY THE FIRES WINTER GLOW
SOMETIMES THERE'S JUST THINGS
ANSWERS OF THAT, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW

I NEVER CLAIMED TO HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS
BUT I'VE TRIED MY BEST TO FILL IN ALL THE BLANKS
AND ALL THE CHINKS IN MY ARMOR
I PATCHED UP THE BEST I COULD
SOMETIMES I WONDER, HOW I GOT THIS FAR
BUT I KNOW ONE THING
I FOLLOWED A STAR

FOR EVERYTHING A REASON
WHATEVER THAT MAY BE WILL BE
ALL I REALLY WANT TO KNOW IS
HOW IS IT WILL I KNOW WILL I SEE
WHEN ITS TIME TO GET OFF THIS ROAD
SAY I'VE SEEN MY SHARE
JUST GIVE ME A SIGN, AND I'LL SEE YOU THERE
TOO MANY THOUGHTS CLOUD MY MIND
AS I TRY TO FALL ASLEEP AND DREAM
SO I GO ON WAITING, FOR THE ONE I'VE NEVER SEEN.

SONG : SAVE MYSELF

SAVE MYSELF
Written by: Jeffrey R Hilton

***

I TRADED TRILLIUM'S, FOR AN ALBERTA ROSE
STOPPED ALONG THE WAY
A FEW TIMES TO POSE
BUT LIKE SO MUCH OF LIFE GONE BEFORE ME
THOSE PICTURES ARE ALL LONG GONE
I'VE GOT A FEELING, IT'S LASTED FOR SO LONG
SOMEWHERE I SHOULD OF BEEN, BY YESTERDAY
I'M STILL HERE, I SEEM TO LOSE MY WAY

THE ROCKIES ON MY DOORSTEP
MOUNTAIN MEADOWS AND MOONLIGHT
A GIRL ON MY ARM
WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR NOTHING
COULDN'T LEAVE IT FOR LONG
I'VE GOT A FEELING
AND IT'S SO STRONG

CHORUS

SO MANY CHANGES, ALWAYS TAKING PLACE
EVERYTHING LOOKS NEW
WHAT CAN YOU HOLD ON TO
YOU'D BETTER WORK YOUR MAGIC
THE WORLDS SO TRAGIC, I COULD USE A SMILE
I COULD USE A PAUSE, I COULD USE A BREAK
BEFORE I'M READY, TO BREAK OUT OF THE GATE
NOW MAYBE I CAN FINALLY, SAVE MYSELF FROM ME
CUT THE VINES, THAT HOLD ME FAST
START ON SOMETHING, THAT'S GOING TO LAST

BIG BLUE SKIES PASSING, BEFORE OUR EYES
SEEN MOSTLY ALL OF IT, BUT DIDN'T REALIZE
THE SUN IS RISING, ON ONE MORE DAY
LETS MAKE THE MOST OF IT, GO ALL THE WAY
I AM READY ARE YOU, TO LET LOVE IN
TO GET LOVE IN, TO GIVE AND RECEIVE
SO LETS PROCEED

LAWS OF ATTRACTION AND SUCCESS

LAWS OF ATTRACTION AND SUCCESS
Written by: Jeffrey R Hilton

***

Some people spend a lifetime not observing the more simple laws of the universe. The strength of the attraction to the things we deem much needed to be successful are a measure of how well we attract those things. Successful people for the most part have very healthy attitudes about both their past successes and future success.

Attitude is key, along with a strong identity of our own self worth. The more negative thoughts we rid ourselves of, the more room we make for positive ones. Some people constantly remind themselves and other that they are not lucky people and reiterate over and over that they never win anything.  These people believe it so completely, that they really do create that kind of luck and  seldom win anything reinforcing their belief.

Believe with all your heart that you are a lucky person and that belief will become a reality. Sure you will probably have to practice at it to perfect it, but put your unlucky streak behind you by giving it a try. You will no doubt catch yourself about to say the same words that have been holding you back, but instead, say I am a lucky person. Say it often and with conviction. Mean it! Believe it!

Remember the saying, " You've got to be in it to win it."
Don't let opportunity to win draws or lotto's because you never win. Use the mantra of success and get in the draw.
Another hand up to success is to,never pass up on any opportunity handed to you. Realize that you have the potential to do anything successfully.

The wise use their heads to solve a problem, but use their hearts to make a choice. The laws of attraction are simple.
If we can dream it or imagine it, we can attract it and make it happen. We must believe  with consistence that we are lucky until we breathe it and live it. The only limitations we have are the ones we put on ourselves.

The laws of attraction apply to anything we want and that includes attracting a suitable mate. Picture your ideal mate along with the traits you deem valuable and believe you deserve that person and you are going to find that person. You are worth it. You deserve it, and you are going to have that, and nothing less. Of course you have to possess redeeming qualities yourself to accomplish this or it will never work. When deviousness and dishonesty are thrown into the equation, the results will more than likely not be what you expect. Positive qualities along with positive thinking go hand in hand towards success.

FRUGALITY EQUALS RICHES

FRUGALITY EQUALS RICHES

Written by: Jeffrey R Hilton

***

Frugality is defined as a quality. Prudent in savings; and
lacking in wastefulness. There are many levels of frugality and some people take it to new levels. Or could that be considered just being downright cheap. A skinflint as it were. While I don't condone going to those lengths, either way, being frugal equates to having more money than you would otherwise. Frugality has been practiced by our forefathers for centuries and often had to do with wars and was necessary just to survive. Other times it was necessitated from drought and famine.

Most of us modern day humans are wasteful beyond belief and not nearly as resourceful as our ancestors were. Wasting water is something we are all guilty of on a grand scale, just taking it for granted that there will always be more. Plastic wash basins were previously always a fixture in a sink and after washing the dishes in that water, it was used to throw on the garden. Bathwater was recycled often by as many people as were in a family. I'd hate to be last in line.

Modern society with all it's conveniences, and believe me, there are way more than one needs, leads us to be wasteful. We have to buy tooth paste and denture tablets and teeth powder, mouthwash, anti -inflammatory pills, pain killers, hair spray, gel, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and the list goes on and on. That's just personal hygiene products. Then there is the multitudes of cleaning supplies etc. It's a wonder anyone has money to eat.

Finding ways to cut costs can be fun and rewarding. Denture tablets can easily be broken in half and used one half at a time and still do the same job. Shampoos and the like can be stretched out some by adding a small amount of water and shaken up to ensure the whole bottle gets used and lasts slightly longer. We can take our empties back to a bottle depot and reap those rewards. We can buy fairly good imitations of designer clothes for half the price.

We can pause before making a purchase and ask ourselves if we really need it, or we just think we do and are being impulsive. We can collect water at home outside and use rain barrels to water our gardens with, taking the sting out of the water bill. We can opt to turn lights out when we leave a room, or use natural light, solar and wind power.
Where there is a will, there is a way to save money.

We can drive slower and less erratic to cut fuel consumption. Switch to hybrid cars. Creativity often drives frugality to find awesome ways to save money. Practice makes perfect. We really don't need every new product that comes out. As far as being frugal goes, there are many books and web sites that can help you decide how and where to start. Making your own cleaning supplies from the barest of essentials that are quite effective and definitely cheaper than buying them.

As I said, you don't have to go overboard, but you'll find if even you adopt some frugal practices, you will save more money for more important things in life than spending too much on consumables. It is somewhat more of a European the U.K., and other countries other than North America which practice the art of buying your groceries daily in a fresh food market rather than buying a huge quantity of food which often spoils before we get to eat it. This is often a healthier choice and supports the local farmers and economy.

For men that are not overly fussy about their hair, get a trimmer for your hair. learn to do it yourself or have your partner cut it for you for more savings. It's not rocket science. Failing that,go to a barber rather than an expensive hair salon to save money. Buy quality,so it lasts longer and gives you more bang for your buck whenever you can, and within reason. This is great advice for shoe buyers.
As the English say; Take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.

Re-use, recycle, re-purpose. Learn how to can from your grandmother and stock up on preserves fresh from the orchard and the garden. Ask your grand parents about frugality and find out if you can fit any of their ideas into your life. Every bit helps. Awhile back when I started breeding birds, I learned to make my own perches from tree branches and a few nut, screws, and washers, saving me from the costs of perches sold in pet stores.

Muse On Summers Day

Muse On Summers Day

Written by: J.R Hilton

Today, I watched a Hawk soar high above me. I admired the clouds reflected in still water. I watched a young bird not yet versed in the art of flight, hop and skip away from me in his imagined danger. I watched green leaves flutter in the warm breeze and felt the sun on my skin. I saw ducks lazing in the afternoon sun and a lone goose preening on the shore. I watched butterflies light on flowers. I let nature soothe my soul, sight, sound and feelings. I saw the river running high and swiftly. Nature is my Church and my solace.

SONG/LYRICS/POETRY: SOLDIER ON

SOLDIER ON

Written by: Jeff R Hilton

***

It's late, it's the hour
Long since the dark closed the flower.
Can't say I'm not tired
Wired and all alone.
Can't say I'm not inspired
To soldier on, until the fight is won.
I can feel I must be close
Find the most I've found.
Take another look around
Be careful choose your ground.
Back me up if you can
Fight don't run away
Watch my back throughout the day.
Never been so determined, to end the war today
Make them give up, and pay.
Victory brings a taste so sweet
I've tasted before, left me wanting more.
And now it's at hand again
I can smell it on the breeze.
Evil's going to lose, left me all these clues.
Forward rings the cry, to battle onto war
Like I've learned it all before
Like I've learned it all before
Another time another war.
Never been so determined, to end the war today.
Soldier on, forward rings the cry.
Like I've learned it all before
And I know the reasons why.

I WONDER WHY

I Wonder Why

Written by: J.R Hilton

***
These days, there's never any shortages of things that make you wonder why, or even how, some of these things could be happening or have already happened. Crimes against humanity perpetuated by other humans. Things that exist or are brought to our attention that don't make sense or add up quite the way they should. Most of these things are driven by greed and big money

It is natural for us to question what is and what is not. I wonder why more people don't question things that don't quite sit right in our realm of understanding ? I wonder why so many people put their trust in the hands of governments with ulterior and often selfish motives ? I wonder why some companies, organizations and agencies get away with what amounts to corruption, deception and practices that go against the very things that they should stand for

I wonder why so many people are allowed to hide behind the facade of God and religion, while they molest and rape innocent children ? I wonder why and even how it has come to be that while some countries can see through the corruption and devastation that companies like Monsanto have wreaked havoc and threaten our existence, kick them out and ban their existence, while others turn a blind eye with hands out for money and lack the foresight to see that G.M.O.'s not only threaten the food chain, but our health and well being

I wonder why criminals have more rights than do their victims ? I wonder why people can't get along and put their differences aside or even come together to create a better life for us all ? I wonder why more people don't pay attention to the wonders of scientific discoveries ?  I wonder why politicians are not held accountable for the promises they make if elected ? I wonder why more people don't question things that threaten their existence ? I wonder why honesty and integrity are virtually non existent in government ?

I wonder why more companies often don't see the value of hiring a person that is older and has vast life experience and more to offer a company than their younger counterparts ? I wonder why so many products seemingly perfectly fine, become new and improved ?  I wonder why cost of living raises never match the true cost of living ?  I wonder why over 18,000 people have read some of the publications contained in this blog and only four people are following it or have become members ?

I wonder why I cannot escape this dark cloud that's been following me around creating hell in my life ? I wonder why faith alone isn't enough ? I wonder why I'm not rich yet, when that's always been my plan ? Yes the world is full of wonder and unanswered questions. It's up to us to unravel these mysteries and come up with the answers. To question is to show leadership and show genuine concern for the world around us and the people in it. Never stop wondering why my friends.

ON THE TAKE

ON THE TAKE

Written by: Jeff R Hilton

***

It seems like everyone is on the take these days. Governments on the take from pharmaceutical companies. Doctors, lawyers, construction firms, politicians, bankers. I'm sure I have missed lots of others and thankfully, not all listed participate, but enough do to have an effect on peoples everyday lives in adverse ways. We are taken advantage of and duped so often by so many, it has almost become acceptable and second nature.

We are deceived, lied to and in many cases, some people have no clue about it and accept things as they come without ever questioning anyone's motives. These people that blindly follow without question, are what helps this to continue and even thrive. In Canada, we were duped and lied to for years about so many things by the liberals, that the conservatives were a breath of fresh air in comparison.

Of course once our trust was gained, the conservatives adopted the same techniques for unfairly extracting monies from the populace and in general, just misleading the public
and only telling us what they think we should know. It didn't take them long to get into bed with the drug companies either. If you knew half of what was going on behind your back, you would be beside yourself and quite angry I'm sure.

What makes or did make this country great is our founding fathers, pioneers of modernity. The people that built the country from the ground up. I cannot grasp the idea that it ever had to do anything with any politicians, and it still doesn't. What our founding fathers did for us, is crumbling around us because of politicians.

Whenever an invention is created to eliminate gas or diesel engines, or even create astronomical gas mileage, these inventions are bought out by oil companies, car companies and governments alike, This has proven to be true over and over. The same goes for any cheap energy ideas that have merit. Why? because the oil companies won't rest until they have drained every last drop of oil from the earth and the billions of dollars collected from it. They certainly don't want anyone raining on their parade or ebbing the flow of billions of dollars going into their pockets.

Some of the present flu vaccinations exist only because the drug companies say so to the government and in at least one case, a vaccination that is widely used has never had any clinical tests to prove it's effectiveness. It's just a way to make more money and put more people on the take.
People have died from some of these vaccines as a result.

Have you ever noticed the continuous bombardment of new drugs on the market and advertised on television that are released at an astounding rate? Almost every one of these seems to have warnings as long as your arm, of more serious harm to us then the actual afflictions they are supposed to eliminate or relieve. Not one of these inspires enough confidence in me to ever take any of these drugs.

As for food and drink for human consumption, Monsanto has given so much money to governments that they are willing to take at face value whatever Monsanto says, and it says genetically modified seed and aspartame is completely safe. The governments like Monsanto's money so much they even appointed the head honcho to oversee the food and drug administration in the USA, responsible for our good health. The same goes for Health Canada.

If you are not worried about some of this stuff then you are out of touch with reality or just don't care. My role here is merely to be informative and hope that more people jump off the fence and become active in fighting for just causes and see things for what they really are. If I knew what to do about all this myself, I wouldn't be here. I would be out doing it. The world needs more activists and as they say, United we stand, divided we fall. We need people that stand up to safeguard what is right and good for the benefit of all mankind.
