WIND CHIMES
WRITTEN BY: J.R HILTON
2017
SOMETIMES I CAN'T HELP LOOKING BACK
TO YEARS PAST AND GONE AWAY
TO FONDEST MEMORIES THAT STILL MAKE ME SMILE
WHEN I THINK OF THEM TODAY
A SUMMER BREEZE TAKES ME BACK TO LONG AGO
JUST A COUNTRY KID, AND ALL THE THINGS I DID
HEART OF AN EXPLORER, HEAD FULL OF DREAMS
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING I'D NEVER SEEN
WALKING THROUGH THE FIELDS TOWARDS THE WOODS
I WAS SHANE, I WAS COCHISE, OR SERGEANT ROCK
SOMETIMES I WAS DAVEY CROCKETT OR DANIEL BOONE
ALL I KNOW IS IT ALL ENDED TOO SOON
LAUGHTER IN THE HAYLOFT, WATER IN THE WELL
LITTLE BROTHERS GONNA TELL
BLOWING SMOKE RINGS IN AN OLD CAR
TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO WE ARE, FLYING BLIND
CHEWING ON A PIECE OF GRASS
LYING ON MY BACK, LOOKING AT THE SKY
CHURCH BELLS RINGING ACROSS THE FIELD
BEGIN TO FADE AWAY
THEN ANSWERED BY THE WIND CHIMES SONG
ALL SUMMER LONG
ICY WINTERS AND DRIPPING SPRING
PROMISE OF ANOTHER SUMMER AGAIN
MEMORIES THAT MAKE ME SMILE
I THINK OF ONCE IN AWHILE
THEY WERE AWKWARD TIMES, BUT WE SURE HAD FUN
TOASTING MARSHMALLOWS IN THE FIRE
SWEET INNOCENCE AND DESIRE
I FORGET THINGS AND LOSE MY MIND
HAPPENS ALL THE TIME
BUT I CAN'T FORGET THE THINGS THAT SHAPED MY LIFE
TURNED INTO SOMETHING NICE
LOOKING BACK I SEE A DIFFERENT WORLD THAT WAS KIND
COULD UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF A BOY OR A MAN
WHENEVER THAT SWEET SUMMER BREEZE BLOWS
CARRYING PRICELESS MEMORIES
STOPS ME IN MY TRACKS
SENDS ME DRIFTING BACK
FREE ENOUGH TO BE
STANDING ALONE, FEELING FREE
