EVERY NOTE A SYMPHONY
WRITTEN BY J.R HILTON JUNE 2016
I COULD STAY HERE TO WATCH THE SUNSET
AS THE BLUE OF THE SKY
RUNS OUT LIKE TEARS
THE RED ORANGE GLOW
GIVING WAY TO THE STARS
FILLING UP THE SKY
ANOTHER DAY IS PASSING BY
SITTING BY THE FIRE
MY THOUGHTS ARE LOST IN THE FLAMES
DRIFTING SKYWARD WITH THE SMOKE
THE SILENCE OF THE EVENING
SOOTHES ME LIKE A SONG
ONE I LOVE TO HEAR
ONE THAT PLAYS SO LOUD AND CLEAR
EVERY NOTE A SYMPHONY
PLAYING FOR THE TREES
PLAYING FOR YOU AND ME
THE STARS GATHER LIKE POOLS OF PEARLS
IN A BLACK BLUE SKY
THE MORE YOU'RE HERE
THE HARDER IT IS TO SAY GOODBYE
THANK YOU FOR THIS NIGHT AGAIN
THIS IS MEANT TO SHARE WITH A FRIEND
CHARGED BY THE MOONLIGHT
SHINING THROUGH THE TREES
ALL THE THINGS WE WERE MEANT TO SEE
PIECES OF MY HEART LEFT AT EACH ONE
NEVER TO FORGET THEIR BEAUTY
THE WATER AND THE SAND
THAT I HELD IN MY HAND
IT KEEPS ME GOING
ALL THAT WISHING AND HOPING
FOR A PIECE OF THIS
I'M TAKING MY BEST SHOT
I HOPE THAT I DON'T MISS
A FALLING STAR STREAKS ACROSS THE SKY
AND I PONDER ON WISHES
PICK ONE THAT I THINK WILL FLY
AND THE NIGHT CARRIES ON AS I FEED THE FIRE
THE WARM GLOW SHINES ON YOUR SMILE
AND SETTLES IN YOUR HEART
THAT'S HOW THESE THINGS GET TO START
THE HARDER IT IS TO SAY GOODBYE
STILL YOU'VE GOT TO TRY
TO DRAW YOURSELF AWAY
BACK TO MUNDANE ORDINARY DAYS
